In order to fund this new policy I will be forced to cancel my donation to the school because that is where the money will have to go.

Some fields of work and university training will never require this new standard of attire. Veterinarians for instance. Climbing over a farm gate with an 'Aprentice' style suit? That will be interesting? waste of money!

I have spent many a hard earned $ on new costumes and clothing for the sixth form. Many of these rather chic items don't fit the new rules that are being forced upon us. I find this very upsetting as my batman costume will simply sit in my wardrobe gathering dust. What a waste. Big shout out to the honey badger.

The proposal of this new dress code is absolutely preposterous
How can they be expected to wear such ridiculous attire?
How can we expect the lower school years to respect the authority of the sixth formers when they are laughing at them due to their clothes?
I don’t believe any girls have expressed a wish for a smarter dress code. Who in their right mind would want to dress like that voluntarily?
I can’t believe the school didn't involve the student body on this decision it is absolutely bang out of order. The students, especially the sixth formers, should be entitled to help make some of the decisions around school especially when the decision is directly related to the students.

The new dress code prepares us for the next stage of life: university/college... where there is no dress code!
And supposedly the new dress code will improve A Level results by making students concentrate more? Rubbish, the current and previous results speak for themselves.

I feel that there should be proper consultation with the student body before the new dress code is endorsed under the pretence of pupil endorsement.

Enforcing a dress code takes time away from the actual purpose of students being in school; our education.

The current sixth form dress code is what a lot of girls including myself look forward to all throughout their school years to sixth form! No one I know expressed a wish for a smarter dress code.

I think the new dress code is stupid. As well as making getting dressed take longer, the actual clothes are also expensive.

This idea is pointless; it removes the students' individuality and responsibilty for themselves to dress appropriately. Giving us a school uniform when we are 18 years old sounds ridiculous.

It takes away the individuality of 6th form and they will now have to spend more money on buying the clothes suitable since they will be quite expensive.

I feel that as mature and independent young adults, we should be entitled to be involved in new formations affecting the school dress code, especially since this will have a large impact on many, if not all of the school students. I do not find it appropriate that these decisions have been made without consulting any of the student body. The school claim that "many girls have expressed a wish for a smarter dress code" however, this has not yet been verified by all of the students. We hope that you will be able to agree to our new compromised dress code.

Why would they sixth formers actually say they wanted this, unless they actually hated the younger years or something? That's just dumb. I'm finding it hard to rely on that information. I think it is a fib that the school made up, so they have evidence to back up THEIR decision ( so they decide to blame it on the sixth formers). That is not fair.

When we reach sixth form we are trusted with many personal decisions and I think one of these decisions should be the way we dress. This new rule will limit our ability to express our individuality, at 18 we should be taking things such as dress code into our own hands and the idea of uniform based dress code is irrational.

I left Challoner's last year, however this is something i've felt strongly about for a long time. Both of my younger sisters attend the school so do 1000+ other teenage girls. The current dress code at sixth form level is an expression of responsibility and individuality, and i think this is hugely important, especially in the transition between education and University or the working world.
Additionally, allowing what a schoolgirl wears to take precedence over her education, or blaming a pupil for the fact that teachers could be made 'uncomfortable' by the appearance of a 16-18 year old girl is just ridiculous.
I feel that the school seriously needs to review their reasons for a proposed change, as to whether it really benefits the girls, or is just essentially a marketing exercise to fuel an idealised public image of the school.
In order to fund this new policy I will be forced to cancel my donation to the school because that is where the money will have to go.
