1525 Dayton Rd in Chico Ca is an important piece of land worth saving. The current residents, G.R.U.B. Co-operative ( http://grubchico.org ), are out to save it from future development. The current land owner, who shall remain nameless, has held on to this land for many years in hopes the that Greenline will move and a Developer will want to buy it at a large sum of money. This piece of land, AKA "The Palms", is a historical piece of property, Hollywood hid Errol Flynn at the Bed & Breakfast while filming Robin Hood in Bidwell Park. A railroad tycoon named Henry Butters originally built the house and used the property while the railroad was being built. Rumor has it that he had a private rail coming up to the property boundary at one point. It is also known to be part of a Geo-mantic System that is spread throughout the US. Free Masons built this system according to numerology and 1525 Dayton Rd is what is known as a Nemeton or Sacred Grove, used for rituals and retreats. Many people I have spoken with about this land claim some sort of nostalgic connection to it. Some where married out here, others frequented the B&B, others fondly remember music shows from the past. No matter your connection here, past or presently with G.R.U.B., one cannot deny that there is a special energy you feel when you enter this grove. It is calming, it is energetic, it is powerful, it is as if something calls you do achieve great things. We want to see this land preserved as a Community Resource for Small Scale Farming (which currently is happening), Education, building a strong local food shed, community events, and much more. We can be very creative! Your signature added to this petition will tell the land owner how many people want to see this place preserved.
