Final supporters
The AISD Facility Master Plan Task Force continues to consider options to reduce AISD's budget. One of the options back on the table is the closure of Mollie Dawson Elementary, moving all students to Becker Elementary. The Dawson campus is in excellent condition with ready access for ALL students to ALL classroom areas, special needs included. In a location that is easily accessible from many south-central Austin neighborhoods, the grounds offer tremendous space for expansion while still providing plenty of area for fitness and other activities in one large, enclosed, safe space. Please sign this petition to support Dawson staying open and continuing to provide a high quality learning program for ALL of our amazing students at the high achievement levels that have become the Dawson tradition!"

So tired of the district trying to cut budgets by hurting our community schools. Keep Dawson open.
This makes zero sense. The school is perfectly fine and the kids are doing great there. Why mess with something that actually works??
DAWSON IS THE BEST. dont close it down!
Awful idea. The grounds are part of why this place is so great. Stop looking at the budget and start looking at the students.
Moving these kids to Becker is a huge mistake. The campus layout at Dawson is way better for the students and the accessibility is a huge plus.

My kids go to Dawson and we love it. Leave our school alone! It is the heart of this neighborhood.
