For a lot of students, including my daughter, summit and been destructive to their confidence. Telling someone that they are failing for missing more than one answer or missing an assignment is in no way motivating, it makes them want to quit. At the beginning of the year my daughter wanted to be a zoologist. She absolutely loved science! By the end, she has given up on that dream saying she can’t do science, she’s no good, and doesn’t even think she will go to college. No platform is worth that! That is not ok! Is it nice that the information is organized and all together? Absolutely. Should kids receive an F for missing one assignment or missing more than two questions? Absolutely not. And the assignments should not be locked and inaccessible to our children. They should be able to work on the tests and assignments when they are able. There are too many flaws with this platform. Please do away with it.

Summit needs to go. It doesn't prepare kids for college and it feels like it pushes parents out of the learning process.

I am a student that uses summit and I know firsthand that it doesn't work.

While I don't believe it's all bad, there are some significant concerns and for public education not to consider options - nothing is a one size fits all and I feel like my children are getting A's grades, but a C level education.

This program is not a one size fits all. There needs to be accommodations made for those that are horrible test takers to help with passing the PFA’s.

Summit completely disengages teacher and student. Teacher lectures during class. My kids learn something completely different on Summit. They’re not able to find the information they need through the resources offered in Summit and are constantly searching for answers on the internet. Some teachers don’t even know the grading scale! Terrible all the way around!!

Summit removes the social learning experience of a child and their peers learning together on the same timeline. It is complex and confusing and beyond the executive function of teens and children.

My children spend too much time on the computer. When their teachers are engaged and creative, they love school. When they are given online assignments and left on their own, they are easily distracted and retreat from real experiences. In my experience with summit, it has been problematic on both ends: very confusing to figure out but once understood, too easy. The instruction has not led to true learning, only hoop jumping, like doing worksheets all day.

Too much screen time and unengaged students this is leading our students to be frustrated all the time.

I come home tired because I stayed up all night studding for something I am going to fell I say let it be up to the kids they are the ones getting educated. put yourself on a computer all day and trying to learn something all by yourself with no explanation of how to do it.

This is not research based learning and is not beneficial to the majority of students. Please listen to the parents' concerns, our students need direct instruction from teachers who are trained to do so.
