Another outrageous move by DL Hampton! We have already lost Badminton courts, one floodlit tennis court, and the ongoing battle by all tennis players regarding the tennis courts floodlights non operational for over the last 3 years!! The subscriptions go up every year, the Racquets sport is being destroyed by cunning reasons and excuses by DL Hampton management. The motto of DL clubs 'My Life My Club' really is not what the Racquets members are getting. We love our club and we are the local community that support this club, but we are facing betrayal upon betrayal and not respected and given the service we pay for on the Racquets side. Now they want the Squash courts too, stop this please!! The Blaze can be located elsewhere in the club, we have many hair saloons in this area, don't need one in a sports club, this is not a holiday boutique resort. Enough is enough!! Leave the Squash courts alone!! Listen to us members don't be ignorant.

DL is a raquets club and this is an outrage. Why on earth out in a hairdressers salon at the expense of sport. That space could have been utilised rather than impacting club members

Would be terrible for the local competitive squash scene. The club has a high standard of players who would surely leave

Not only is squash a great rackets game for fitness but the squash community is one of the most inclusive and sociable aspects of hampton - one way to keep people active at all ages

Squash provides a high intensity, cardio-vascular workout, and is known to burn around 1,000 calories an hour. Medical research rates squash as one of the best sports for overall fitness, wellbeing, weight management and life expectancy. Why damage this fantastic sport, that delivers all these benefits, for an untried fad?

Having worked as the squash pro at the club for 10 years, including pre sales and opening, the club has always had a thriving, vibrant and phenomenal squash community. To take these courts away would demonstrate a real lack of respect for the desires of the members and the members themselves, many of whom have been members a very long time. In these times, where acquiring new customers carries a greater cost than retaining them, DL need to think this through. In my estimation squash members and their families could be as much as 10% of their membership. That would be a big hit on churn rates and monthly income... Ok, let’s also look at the success of British squash players over the last 20+ years versus tennis players. We have been a prominent force in the game with many world elite players from a smaller pool of players, unlike Tennis, and I don’t think that there is a world championship in “Blaze”, surely you wouldn’t cut the supply line.

It would be a complete travesty to lose 2 courts at David Lloyd Hampton. They have some of the best courts we have ever used and the camaraderie with the players makes it a joy to play there. PLEASE DON'T SCRAP THE COURTS!! Vicki Elgarhy & family

Stop killing squash for 'new' fads and start putting real effort into supporting it

Is DL management really not able to find a way to accommodate Blaze which doesn’t have such a negative impact on the Club’s excellent squash facilities and the members that use them?

Please listen to long term active and supportive members who play racquet sports. Squash and tennis players understandably feel that the Club doesn't value their membership as much as it should. The proposal to convert two squash courts to a Blaze Studio endorses this perception and feels like narrow short term thinking. Many of us joined the club primarily to play sports that involve hitting a ball ...squash, tennis and golf. Along with this - the social and related team experiences. For many of us, the other club classes and facilities are either secondary benefits or actually - of no benefit at all. If the interests of ball players of all ages are not provided for ........ the Club will ultimately see individuals and families look elsewhere. Please rethink this proposal,

Can't believe this. My new club in Dublin just built 2 new courts and squash has a great chance of getting in to the Olympics...what a lack of foresight when those courts are always in demand? Come on DL...what are you thinking?

The squash courts set the tone, at the entrance, for this racquets club. There are many other areas which could be repurposed for Blaze. Please keep these well-used courts.

I do not want a blaze studio where the squash courts are and if members want it then another location can be used. We need to be consulted about changes in advance.
