Please stop trying to expand the service on the cheap. This needs proper thought and proper investment from all parties.

Simply we need more doctors/staff to properly cover 7 day week not manipulate the hours and pay of existing already overworked and in my opinion as a member of the public underpaid Junior Doctors. They are already giving their all to the detriment of a difficult family life as they cover weekends and nights. They deserve our respect and gratitude for their service to their patients not the unfair and almost dis-interest and bad press and news as of late. Shame on all that do not support them .

This contract must NOT be allowed to pass without addressing doctors' key concerns. Simply put, there are two points: doctors don't want a pay cut, and doctors don't want to work unsafe hours.

Junior doctors are the barrier to a 7 day NHS. If we want this jets have a real conversation about this but blindly making Saturday 'plain time' does not address this. It is a way of paying doctors less for Hirt antisocial hours.

Having qualified as a doctor in 1988 I have witnessed the increasingly dangerous assault on the NHS by this Government. I have never personally supported pay awards for doctors such as merit awards. However I do support a safe, supported and appropriately remunerated workforce. Please listen to your junior doctors - they are speaking out for the first time in years. Does that not tell us that something is really wrong?

Saturday is not & never will be a normal working day. It, along with Sunday, is called the weekend. Unless the government wishes to change the school calendar and every other person's working week, it can never be reduced to a normal day.. It is a basic human right to a family life, do not try to remove that right.

Your letter suggests pay reform is due to fairness between doctors. I am at a loss as to why the SoS would oppose strike action in order to achieve this. The reasons behind these reforms initially seemed to be unproven threats to safety that then change when evidence that they are false emerges. Your letter appears to contain yet more obfuscation - negotiation is only possible with transparency.
