I've personally worked with Dave and will attest to his credibility and desire to mentor and help other officers in the department. I have never seen any situation that would indicate he has anything other than the highest ethical standards.
The issue here is not his integrity. It is the systemic ignorance of Fargo Police leadership to understand what is or is not a credibility or "Giglio" issue. When ignorance and authority cross paths, as is the case of some Fargo Police command staff, disastrous consequences can result, which is what is occurring here. For whatever reason, Dave has fallen out of favor with senior command staff and the credibility or "Giglio" label is the tool du jour for law enforcement management to kill an officer's career with impunity.
The other issue created by this controversy is the ill-light that this ignorance places on some very good sergeants and officers at the PD. It's unfortunate, but somehow the proverbial bad apples have risen to the top instead of officers and sergeants with proven leadership, knowledge, and command skills.
North Dakota needs a police officer bill of rights and a review board for these so called Giglio determinations as the current format for these determinations is fraught with potential for abuse and career assassination

Dave is a good friend and great person. I've worked with Dave for 12 years and have always known him to tell you like it is, even when you may not want to hear it. He has always been an honest officer and his integrity is beyond reproach.

As a recent retired FPD officer that has worked side by side with Dave, he is a solid and righteous officer with impecable morals and honesty.
I have seen their so called "evidence". It is a joke and slap in the face to law enforcement. Chief Todd should be ashamed of his investigation. Turn over in the FPD is again at a all time high. Lets investigate that!!!
