Daves Aquarium Bolton to be boycotted and closed down

I can't believe this place hasn't been shut down already and the owner made accountable.

I have to agree. The animals really do look so sad here and the place is dingy and dirty. Ive never seen a member of staff smile. Asked what the poor meerkats name was that is on its own as you go in and was told it didnt have one! Nice. Truly awful place.

no knowledge of reptiles what so ever, disgusted at the price of the wooden hides even the small ones start at 12.99 and that's not even the exo-terra ones. Birds kept in small enclose in their own build up faeces, and a lot of the snakes had minimum space to move around (especially the red tail boa as you walk in to the room), One cornsnake had no light, but when I asked to hold the snake it was freezing like it hasn't had a heat lamp in there fpr at least a few days! saw so many things wrong their, to me they had no knowledge of reptiles only the animals that need simple care such as the rabbits, hamsters and rats! They try and draw customers in by having a café and a children's play area and too much stock, but can't even do the main thing and actually look after the animals properly, they should focus more on actually the care of the animals rather than concerning themselves with running a café and too much stock!!!!!

This store is a health risk to the people who visit and a death sentence for the animals who are for sale.

Visited today the premises are absolutely disgusting dead flies in fish tanks very bad smell in the building absolutely filthy !!! We walked in looked at the fish tanks and walked out !!

Yeah you are right the meerkats shouldn't be kept in a small place where they are being kept they should be able to run wild like they are suppose to do

cages too small for amount of birds in them.tropical fish tanks all full of algae with dead fish in.most of the simese fighting fish were either dead or dying.would not consider buying any living thing from here.whole shop needs a good clean up

I agree birds especially , tarantulas kept under bright lights , a Chinese water dragon labeled as an iguana which shows there is no knowledge of the animals , tropical reptiles kept on dry aspen bedding , horrible place , no help that only one of the staff is actually nice , been going for years and all the nice staff have left apart from this one and the rest are inexperienced especially the oriental female who clearly does not care for the well being of the animals . Birds are highly stressed and kept in the middle of a room , putting them in the centre of noise and activity which some of the birds are highly affected by . Animals are overpriced as well, an exceptional example is a green anole that hardly has colour from being ill which is on sale for £30 ! These types of anole are for sale for £15 at the most ! Disgusting place , should either be shut down or have new staff and management !

I've been in a few times now and the rodents all look like their in serve pain or don't look right! it's really cruel i want to take them all!

We went on New Year's Eve to purchase 2 new cages for our parrots, we ended up buying three and rescuing one of the poor birds, Kiki a kakarikis this poor little thing has been there for over a year at least, now she has a fab home and is doing ok, it's disgusting they are kept in this way, no toys filthy cages, not even daylight.

I have not been in recently but avoid the place and have done for years. If what these people are claiming is true and there is no real reason why people should lie then I am more than happy to join a petition. All cruelty to animals should be dealt with in the proper lawful manner and he should be stopped from breeding and trading. If he has previously as stated, been banned and prosecuted for the way that he has previously kept animals.....and he has allowed this again....... throw the book at him!!!
