Have visited a few times. Large parrots and cockatoos no stimuli several cases of plucking, repetitive behaviour due to stress, long nails and over grown beaks. Food I if poor quality with lots of shelled nuts which the spores when opened can cause respiratory illness. Smaller birds crammed into cages and often visually not well with dirty bums (a healthy bird will raise their tail and will not foul on itself) watery eyes etc. Budgies are known to be aggressive and territorial but are housed with more placid species in a small area which leads to the placid birds being attacked. Small mammals often noted to have no hides or lack of food and clean water. Smell is very pungent not cleaned out as often as requires to keep good hygiene. Fish tanks covered in algae and sick fish, often die within days of being sold

Another example of how bad owners can get away with it. The law needs to be enforced in every scenario this man is near animals.

I have seen photographs and the living conditions of these animals is wholly unacceptable. What is the point in having regulations and standards if they can be so openly violated and ignored. The authorities have failed these poor creatures and the owners should have had their licence to keep animals revoked and prosecuted long before now.

I used to buy from this shop, but it's gotten increasingly horrible, and I wouldn't buy anything from them now. Close it down and save these animals from suffering day after day.

IIRC, both Hemingway and his wife were banned from keeping or selling animals. The RSPCA were responsible for at least one of the prosecutions, I would report this store to them in the first instance if he really does have anything to do with this one.

Went today to have a look around. Immediately hit by the stench. Buildings falling to bits. Tortoise/terrapins in tanks clearly distressed. Dead fish in filthy tanks. They obviously don't give a damn about the animals it's horrible. And to top it off the staff were rude.

Went the other day to buy some fish for a new tank the conditions were terrible, ended up walking out when I saw dead fish being eaten alive by the others in the tank!

I bought a guinea pig the other day , the poor girl is so thin , the birds are bald , fish tanks are dirty with dead fish , reptiles are almost begging to be let out of that hell hole , staff look scruffy and very unprofessional, gave wrong advice about the animal I purchased , such a shame!

I have always visited daves aquarium since being a child but refuse to step foot through the door any more as the conditions of the animals and building is disgraceful and the smell is just overpowering how any one could eat at the cafe with that smell is beyond me.

im with this 1000% the place is quiet literally is deathrow for all animals and fish that go there i took my kids there just to have a look they ended up breaking there heart after seeing the dead fish and disgusting living conditions i used to work there when i was younger and gotta say its gone worse how they have stayed opened is a mystery the poor animals there look so ill and depressed they need better homes and certainly a better petshop that will actually care and look after them the rspca or any other animal welfare agency needs to read views like mine and many others or go and see for themselves i hope to hear in the near future people signing this petition will help to get the place get closed down for good

Why have the RSPCA not been here? The birds alone are far too over crowded!! The fish you can barely see because of how dirty the tanks are and those you can see are dead. All the stock is over priced mostly broken and from decades ago.
