I visited this aquarium about 15 years ago, all looked fine then! what has happened since?

Havnt been for about 25 years it was nice and clean back then sad to hear animals treated in such a way

This use to be the best place to go twenty years ago I went last yr and couldn't beleive my eyes... What a hole!!! I can't beleive this place is allowed to trade it's disgusting and should b closed asap..

Why if many complaints are needed by the rspca, which personally I think are about as much use as a fart in the wind, don't people make the call instead of sounding off on here. Take photos on your phone, email them to the rspca. Suppose I've been lucky, bought a few fish including bettas. Yes they are in disgusting conditions there, as are all other animals. So stop moaning on here and ring the so called rescue rspca. If you all held petitions outside of the store may be they will turn up along with a camera crew so they can use it on TV. I honestly agree with most of you on here, but I really don't hold much hope for any help from our so called animal rescuers

Gross. Very poor conditioned place. 40 Birds crammed into one cage made to look for maximum 8. Loads of dead fish in tank, staff zero interest in fish. Close it down!!

Place is filthy, poor animals kept in unsanitary and unsutibble conditions, not fit to keep pigs.

Called in today for fish food and left disgusted and distraught after seethe poor meerkat in the window eating the carpet it was sat on. The smell was also overwhelming. We left without spending a penny

I enjoy visiting... but I feel the animals are being mistreated...

I went in today, my heart breaks everytime I see that poor lonely Meerkat they NEED to be in groups it's got nobody to play with or be social with. As for the animal section at the back, all the hamster wheels were made from wire and were rusty? Robo/ dwarf hamsters can easily get their legs caught in them and cause serious injury! All of the hamster cages being sold are not even suitable at all and are only good for being scrapped! If they concentrated soley on being an aqarium place and stopped selling other animals then I think it would be so much better as fish wise they sell so much stock, the selection of tanks etc is really good and most of the fish looked healthy, stop selling small animals/reptiles, give the Meerkat to a sanctuary or zoo and focus on improving and selling just fish products and this could eventually be a decent place to visit.

Many of you will disagree with me however I do not believe daves aquarium should be shut down, over the past 2 months daves have employed trained and caring staff to look after the fish the tanks are all clean and in working order no dead fish in sight, I agree the aquarium used to be disgusting and had seen better days but the men are working hard everyday to bring it back to its former glory. As for the reptile room the birds now have individual tanks with snacks made for birds and a lady who knows exactly how to care for birds, reptiles and rabbits the animal room also doesn’t have the stench you mentioned anymore neither does the rest of the store. Also it’s rude to call the staff scummy they are all kind and willing to help from all of my experiences. Please remove this petition as it is unfair and discriminatory and could potentially ruin the life’s of thoose who work and run the shop.
