We, Dartmouth alumni and alumnae all, stand united and indivisible in our support of Dartmouth College. A most unfortunate and inopportune wedge has been driven deep into the heart of the Dartmouth College family as the result of certain governance changes that have diluted the role of alumni and alumnae in choosing the Trustees that govern Dartmouth College. As a result of these changes, the influence of the broader alumni and alumnae body upon the governance and direction of Dartmouth College has been effectively eviscerated. The Dartmouth College family cannot begin to heal itself unless and until a bond of trust is rebuilt between Dartmouth College and its Trustees and the alumni and alumnae body. The first step to rebuild trust is for Dartmouth College to disclose, in full and complete detail, financial transactions between Trustees and their respective interests and Dartmouth College. We. the undersigned, petition Dartmouth College, commencing with the most recently concluded fiscal year prior to the submission of this petition, to disclose in the most transparent manner possible: 1) the amount and investment performance of any and all funds owned or controlled, directly or otherwise, by Dartmouth College that have been invested with any Trustee or any entity, natural or otherwise, that is controlled by or affiliated with, in any manner, with any Trustee or any family member or business partner of a Trustee; and 2) the sum total of: a) any cash compensation; b) non-cash compensation; c) management or other fees; d) any and all bonuses, performance based compensation, or other 'kickers'; e) loans of cash or property of any kind; f) expense reimbursement; and g) any other form of compensation or reimbursement regardless of its form or nature, paid or otherwise transmitted to any Trustee or any entity, natural or otherwise, that is controlled or affiliated, in any manner, with any Trustee or any family member or business partner of a Trustee. Submitted on behalf of the undersigned by A.R. Siegel, â '81.

Many in and among the Dartmouth College family believe that a significant portion of the College's problems are directly attributable to Trustees who are professional investment or fund managers. It seems that fund managers buy their way onto the board and may end up making large sums of money from investing sums controlled by the administration. Simply put, there exists significant concern that some of our Trustees sold out historic Dartmouth to become house pets for the administration and feather their own nests. This petition asks the College to disclose these relationships.
