We the undersigned would like to congratulate the BBC for the excellent decision to cast Mr Danny Dyer as the new landlord of 'The Vic' in the television soap opera EastEnders. However we have a grave concern that Mr Dyer's current facial hair will seriously undermine the nation's full enjoyment of this casting decision. We ask the BBC to work with Mr Dyer to come to a satisfactory compromise, whereby Mr Dyer is comfortable with his self representation, and the nation doesn't have to look at his beard. Furthermore, we seek assurance that were the BBC, or any other broadcasters, to commission a biopic of Prof Bill Osgerby (London Met University), Mr Dyer will be the first choice in the chief protagonist's role.
