Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Daniel Maisch, and I am hoping to be your new Student Senate President. Since my Freshman year, I have had the honor of watching, learning, and admiring the great work of Bob Ladd ‘18, Quentin Jackson ‘21, and Freya Jennison ‘22, and believe that I have the necessary skills, commitment, and determination to follow in their footsteps.

Due to our current sociopolitical climate, both nationally and on campus, I believe now more than ever is the time to build upon the leadership and development that was set before me. With that, if elected, I am fully prepared to prioritize diversity and inclusion efforts campus-wide, as well as, re-evaluate our responses to issues regarding mental health, sexual assault (shoutout to our Titan Consent Campaign), L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ inclusion, and most importantly, the Black Lives Matter movement, beginning with the implementation of a Zero Tolerance Policy for Racism and Discrimination.

Moreover, I want to acknowledge that we are navigating through uncharted waters; as a nation, as a campus, and as individuals. Every day presents a new challenge, and I would be honored if, as a campus, you elected me to pioneer Illinois Wesleyan through this challenging, yet exciting journey. Thank you.
