To: Mr. Bob Crate, Mayor of Trent Hills, Warden of Northumberland County

We the undersigned attest to the following:

- The issue of speeding in the Municipality of Trent Hills has reached dangerous levels

- The continued lack of progressive action by the Municipality and County of Northumberland is leading to a decreased state of public safety within our community

- The recent action by the Municipality/County to raise the speed limit on Albert St W to 60 km/h from 40 km/h is not only counter productive but exacerbating an already dangerous issue of speeding in Hastings

We request the following actions in the name of public safety of our community:

- Immediately revert the speed limit on Albert St W in Hastings to the previous 40 km/h limit until a more comprehensive means of traffic calming can be implemented

- Complete a new traffic study in the Municipality focusing on speeding issues, not traffic collisions as was previously done

- Proceed with implementation of traffic calming technology (i.e. photo radar) within the Municipality as soon as possible

- Request additional enforcement from the OPP in known trouble areas of the Municipality

- Apply already available traffic calming solutions (i.e. road markings, signage, speed bumps, lights, radar signs etc) in known speeding trouble areas

- Hold a public meeting to discuss the above concerns
