The whole purpose of dancing is to creatively express oneself with music and movement. To take away or limit our choice of music will make dancing pointless, because the whole artistic side to the sport will be removed. On top of that, there will be less diversity among the teams' mixes if we're all forced to dance to a short list of songs covered by wannabe pop stars who never made it big.

I am familiar with copyright law and I believe you have a legal path to do this. What this feels more like is Varsity grabbing yet another corner of the spirit market. In your position I'd worry more about antitrust laws since you seem to have a monopoly.

Please do something to change this!! The Varsity brand has supported dance and cheer teams for so long and by making this change you are destroying that! Creativity is what makes cheer and dance so unique!
