Due to increased enrollment and limited study space availability, we would like to have the University of North Georgia Dahlonega Library hours extended. They are currently 7:30 a.m. to Midnight Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. to Midnight on Sunday. With one of the state's fastest growing Universities, and to compete with other major Universities, these hours have been found to be insufficient for maximum study and learning potential. As such, if these hours could be extended Monday through Thursday until 3 a.m. and Friday and Saturday until 9 p.m., we feel as though this would better serve the student body as a whole, leading to increased opportunities for students to excel both academically and intellectually.

Please note that this is to show student interest in this issue. For any change to be enacted, high student interest and involvement has to exist.

With everyone's schudule so different like kids working 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift and busy it should extend its hours to meet every student that pays to go there needs!!!!

I agree with all that is said in the petition. I would also like to remind administration that the wifi in surrounding areas is sometimes poor, so the extra hours would help in that regard. Also keep in mind that the small wage you pay the 2-3 employees needed to run the entire library is a small cost to keep a large library open that holds thousands of students.

I don't have a computer so the library is a second home for me during the semester. To have later hours would be awesome

Having the library hours extended will be a great step for the academics at North Georgia. Normally around 12 when I am at the library I'm not done studying yet. When the library closes at that time my studying is interrupted and I tend to loose focus.

The library and chow should both be open 24/7 just like at UGA and other large universities in the state. We pay SO MUCH money to be able to use these facilities for them to have such inconvenient hours.

I want the library to be open during more convenient hours on the weekend. Nothing is more frustrating than going to the library on a Saturday, only to see it closed.

Yes. Especially on the weekends!

I agree with the new hours and with the reasons that they have mentioned. I would go so far as to donate money in order to have the hours extended and I know others that agree. This shows how real of an issue this is.
