Yes, he deserves a fair trial, and I want to see this adjudicated in a court of law with evidence presented and no plea deal offered. Too many times, these offenders have gone on to up the ante, killing the first or next time. Also, whoever wrote the petition needs to spell "its" correct. "Given that the crime.....". The "its" in that sentence is not a conjunction. Thank you!

Kevin - There is nothing vitriolic about wanting justice done. Given what we know about child predators, there is very little likelihood that this was his first attempt at an abduction. He showed forethought & planning in his choice of materials that he brought along on his mission. He targeted a child ON A SCHOOL CAMPUS, showing that he had very little regard for getting caught, and that his actions were bold in nature (a serious warning sign of a dangerous predator). My request isn't vitriolic in nature, it is to see justice done. I want this man to have a trial IN COURT, not a deal made behind closed doors. I want his defense to have a chance to prove that he's not the guy that tried to steal away a SEVEN YEAR OLD CHILD. But if he IS the one that did it, I want him behind bars as long as possible...hopefully until my own children are grown enough to put him down on their own should he ever attempt such things with one of them.

Yes, Rita - It's entirely possible, which is why I'd prefer that he be tried in a court of law rather than being offered a backroom deal to avoid one. I want the DA to charge him to the fullest extent of the law because of the seriousness of the crime for which he is accused. Anything less will reek of favors done behind closed doors due to the political and financial interests of the involved parties.

Make sure he gets his punishment for what he attempted to do. His parents money shouldn't even play a role in his case.
