My experience going off of Cymbalta is the worst health crisis I have ever dealt with. I am furious about the lack of information provided by Eli Lily regarding the drug's extreme withdrawal symptoms. I feel like an addict trying to kick an illicit drug.

When I tried to wean off of Cymbalta I experienced the most hellish withdrawl symptoms on Earth. I had headaches that were incomparable to my chronic migraine condition, I had shooting, electric pains up my neck and head, I couldn't see, I was nauseous, vomiting and couldn't get out of bed! This medication did little to help me while I was on it and it miserable trying to get off of it. Had I known up front that there were these withdrawl symptoms, I would have NEVER opted to take this medication to begin with!

I tried to get off of 30 mg once by removing 7 beads from the capsule daily. Even with that slow withdrawal formula, I cried much of the day and had a continuous headache.

Cymbalta is like the lyric about hotel California "you can check in but you can't check out" the withdrawal is evil and eli lilly is the devil collecting their billions from unsuspecting people and lazy doctors who push pills

Sexual side effects have become too much. The problem has not been the erection but never being able to reach orgasm. The issue has been very difficult for my marriage. I've decided to go off cymbalta after speaking with my doctor. He reduced my dose to 30. The past two weeks have been very hard. I've felt sick and horribly depressed. I've always fought thoughts of suicide and this has gotten much worse. I fully recognize my own responsibility and choice to take the drug; however, the manufacturer and doctors should make sure there is a safe way to get off this drug. I understand there are reasons why this drug is good for people and helpful but (for those who don't want to take the drug anymore) there should be a way out. For YEARS I've been afraid of going off the drug. The brain zaps have always scared me. Drs and manufacturers should help patients understand these issues UP FRONT. That's the right thing to do.

Shame on you Eli Lilly and FDA. You are supposed to help people, not further complicate their problems.

I have been advised by doctor to have my dose decrease to eventually change to another anti-depressant, I am shocked and outraged that the withdrawal effects of this drug are kept very quiet, I am going through hell on earth at present !!!

The worst withdrawal!! Nightmares have been horrific!! Eli Lily should be held accountable legally and the main chemists and scientists involved should be ashamed for what they knew this did ! Not disclosing all withdrawal possibilities to patients and doctors for people to endure sooo much suffering just isn't right! :(

I have just quit Cymbalta and the symptoms are insane. I can't sleep, I get nauseous, I hear and feel electrical zaps in my head, my head also feels like it's full of seashells, I'm dizzy, I wake up with sheets drenched from sweat. I'm irritable. I'm emotional.

I was put on cymbalta for treatment of fibromyalgia pain...I was not told I was given a sample script, so finding out the next month to get my refill it was $75... and I have no income, so I've had to apply for a program to try to get it cheaper...well its been over 2 months and I'm still withdrawling and having zaps in my eyes and head and overall just sick feeling... this is the longest withdrawl I've ever experienced from any anti depressant, pain medication, or even anxiety medication..

I went through a very tough 2 months after using this drug for 6 months. It helped me a lot with my depression but coming off it was complete hell! After 4 years, here I am taking 10 mg a day for the past couple of days coz the doctor said using a doze this low for a few months shouldn't do any harm when I get off it. But i think I don't wanna risk it at all so I decided to stop using it all together. Hopefully I won't feel bad by just going cold turkey after using for 4 days. I am still worried about it. It is not worth your money and health!

Discontinuing this medication, even by 10% of original dose a week, has caused me to experience serious physical, mental, and emotional symptoms. It makes it almost impossible function socially and occupationally. My depression was a cake walk compared to the past two months of withdrawal.

The hardest drug to detox from. It's been a little over a year and I am about 75% back to "normal'. They need to take this off the market!

The details of withdrawals were never shared by any physician. Nor were they included in the information at the pharmacy. It was not until I went online to search of other peoples experience did I find that my nightmare is VERY REAL! This drug served a purpose of keeping migraines away, as prescribed my my Neurologist 8 years ago (I just searched my history to find how long I have taken it). It came out on the market in 2004. By 2005 the discovery of relief for migraines was found to be true. So this drug has been pushed as a preventative for pain. I am on Day 21 of weaning off this drug and my mind has been my living nightmare for that many days. I am so thankful to have JUST NOW FOUND a website where others talk about their experiences. I am not alone. Yet I am not okay. I will be. I am determined. this drug SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE MARKET OR IF A PERSON IS GOING TO BE PLACED ON IT, that person needs to know what he/she an expect if he/she is ever removed from this drug.
