Cossington Park is a very popular and well used park despite its limited size. A cycle path through the centre of it provides no tangible benefit to any of the current users or indeed to any prospective cyclers! If a cycle path is deemed beneficial, following proper local consultations and appropriate health and safety assessments, I could possibly support a dedicated cycle/skateboard/roller skating path to be developed along the outside perimeter of the existing park boundaries, ensuring adequate crossing points for regular park users wishing to use the fields, as has been done for generations, and should continue to be available for generations to come!!

What a silly move! Many people play different types of sports on that park, The cyclist could cycle on one side of the paths.
By the way they have made the paths wider but the quality in which they have done it is unbelievable, I mean it at least should be flat Surely with machinery nowadays they should be able to achieve that.
Doesn’t make sense at all!

there is no need to put a cycle path around the park as there is enough space on the road to do this on the main road

Its s stupid thoughtless plan, why do you need a cycle path in the middle of the park? Disrupting safe areas with bikes, Dont need it.

I grew up in the area and know how important that green area is for the local people. A cycle path is not appropriate and will be a barrier to many cultural activities and festivals in that area. I am strongly against a cycle path and support this petition.

We are grateful for the improvement, investment and refurbishment planned for Cossington park. But why take away a green space used by citizens of all ages playing sports or chilling safely on the grass??? Why cycle across the play area when there are already paths created around the park? Surely this will result in higher risk of injury to both cyclists and people using the grounds. Disappointing and clearly not thought through at all.
