Have thought this for YEARS. So much great space, ideal for families and yet there is nothing there. Let's show Canada/US/England/Australia that we can be a world-class and family friendly city too, with some amazing playgrounds and parks. We push our kids academically and don't provide any great outdoor space for them. Be creative and look at what other countries like Australia are doing, there’s a real movement away from plastic playgrounds to nature play playgrounds. Using natural elements like tree stumps and wooden fixtures, ropes etc . See some great examples in the below link:
