We, the hereunder signed Charlottesville area parishioners, humbly request His Excellency, Bishop Francis Xavier DiLorenzo, to permit, in accordance with Summorum Pontificum and Universae Ecclesiae, Fr. Joseph Mary Lukyamuzi, pastor of Holy Comforter Parish, to say Holy Mass in the Extraordinary Form on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at Holy Comforter Catholic Church, Charlottesville, VA. In making this petition, we affirm not only our interest, desire, and love for mass in the Extraordinary Form, but also our willingness to attend such masses when possible.

I am truly humbled by the response this has received and the way so many of you have stepped forward. This momentum belongs entirely to the community here. It is heartening to see how much this means to so many people.

Please bring it here. I drive to sspx up the mountain to find it. It ought to be in Charlottsvile proper!
Latin is the universal language of our Mother Church! Help us connect through prayerful participation in the beautiful continuity of our liturgy by permitting the Extraordinary form. Don't just trim the leaves of a vine for fruit--water her roots!
As the Organist and Choirmaster at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Charlottesville I can tell you that this is will fulfill a great need in our community. Thank you for doing this.
I went to a Tridentine Mass at St. Joseph's in Richmond and it was a powerful, life changing experience! Please, please, please can we have it here too? It will greatly strengthen faith and reverence for the Eucharist. This is what Pope Benedict intended when he spoke of liturgical "cross-pollination."
I have been praying for this for ten years. I believe that we could develop a schola for the ordinary and propers.
I pray we have the Latin Mass every Sunday at Holy Comforter Catholic Church !!
I will help in any way I can to get the Tridentine Mass said here in Charlottesville!
