City government needs to stop talking and start doing. It's been way to long doing the same damn thing.

I just retired 3 years ago and the cost of maintaining our home is outrageous! We keep a new and well maintained home and have to pay for it! I'm proud to live in Ogdensburg but!!!!!!!! $$$$$$$ An other thing is the resale value of our fairly new home!!!!!

The city and school district has tough decisions to make and they need to make them now. The status quo on a city in decline cannot continue to happen. If the people are not here to pay taxes or attend school, how can you keep the same expenses.

Do nothing to your home and the taxes go up, I know of someone who put a new front and back porch on and their taxes went down. Would love to hear an explanation??

Ogdensburg is the number 1 most tax exempt city in New York State. The whole tax roll should be scrutinized. I'm sure many properties are given an exemption yearly, but have not submitted the proper paperwork. The assessor needs to buckle down on properties claiming they are exempt. The Bridge and Port Authority itself is another tax dodger. They have land that is leased and pulling a profit. They should be giving the city a PILOT on many of these properties.

Let us pay what we deserve to be paying, not for lack of the fact that there are so many properties exempt from paying taxes that you are trying to “make up for that”... the tax payers shouldn’t be punished for that.

For what I have my taxes are way too high I do not live in a half a million 2 million dollar home why am I paying taxes like I have one

$20 per thousand. While all towns, villages around us are $5 per thousand. A radical change is needed, or apparent progress directly pegged to our inflated tax bill is blatantly obvious to all citizens.

The elderly and disabled on fixed incomes will never be able to survive if the taxes are not lowered. It will become a choice of food, heat, lights, healthcare or taxes. Whatever will the city do with all the taxes that doesn't get paid because they chose to eat?
