home study is the only way to get peace to concentrate,at this stage you should'nt have to ask teachers anything as you shiould be up to speed and only revising what you have been taught

it is absolutely unfair not to allow students time off to study for important exams,in the past we have all enjoyed this practice,it is even more baffling considering these pupils are having to deal with the inaugural curriculum of chaos

i can see this curriculum for eckcellence being scrapped after a couple of years after ruining the prospects of thousands of kids

I would recommend asking your parents to write a note excusing you from school, they can't really argue with that. This is nothing to do with Curriculum for Excellence anyway, your school must have its own reasons for making the decision. It does seem unfair but remember the teachers are on your side - they want you to do well! They will allow you time to get on with your own studying and you have the advantage of being able to ask for help if you get stuck. And they're the people to go to if you have a problem with it, most of them probably disagree with the decision as well and they will fight your case for you. As for February prelims, that's probably just so they have more time to teach you the course properly so you will do better in your exams. Hope this helps.

I no longer go to school but this new curriculum for exellence is a disgrace and it shouldn't have been brought into education.

West Dunbartonshire council must act asap to stop this practice of sitting exams during holidays,also home study should be available to those students who dont want to study in school,as they can be hindered by others who are'nt interested in study,this curriculum is a disaster as it has been railroaded through too quickly without proper planning or integration with teaching staff.Terry Lanigan must act to allow these pupils to sit exams during school time and also the choice of whether to study at home or school as has always been the case

Alex Salmond's curriculum is a recipe for disaster along with his dream of independence,making students sit prelims during a "holiday!" is ridiculous and the decision should be recinded.There should be a choice available whether to study at home or on the school premises as has always been the case.The current s4 kids throughout Scotland are being used as guinea pigs and it is not fair as this "curriculum" could seriously have an adverse affect on their future wellbeing.Immediate action is needed to rectify this farcicalsystem,driven by "brainless!" politicians and enforced by unsupportive teachers who are apparently considering strike action regarding this system.Good on the pupil/pupils who are trying to do something about a system that unfairly abuses their rights to a fair and consistent standard of education,this is a reflection of the political madness we are now experiencing in Herr Salmonds republic

The children should have study leave the curriculum is not worth the paper it's written on no teacher knows what they are doing with it and it's ridiculous they are trying to do everything in class to quick and the children are struggling to study for all their exams and prelims as it is and asking them to come to school in a holiday is terrible and very unprofessional.
Pupils were not given a voice on this issue that concerns us.

I agree with Beth, I do think that a lot of pupils will misuse their study leave and possibly not even study. I know that id much prefer to stay in school for prelim study as we are then able to get help from teachers with things were stuck on and know that well get some studying done for every class. But I do agree with the not having prelims on a holiday as the time could be used for relaxing/extra studying.
