Furthermore I have been informed that Dumbarton Academy is the only school in the area that has to go in during the February holiday to participate in our prelims, why is this the case? Surely the same rules should apply across the board as this break would have been beneficial to study for these prelims and then sit them after the holiday. Would it not be more appropriate and beneficial to postpone the prelims that are set during the February holiday till after it. On the whole, it is a ridiculous arrangement and the ‘Curriculum For Excellence’ is more like a ‘Recipe For Disaster!’

The feedback from students across all year groups confirms that forced class study is disrupting our preparation for exams. Please contact your local representative to demand they address this policy with the school administration. We must keep this pressure on until they restore our study leave.

Wonder what will happen when the school exam pass rate falls due to insufficient free study time? And really, why should my daughter and her fellow students jeapordise their one chance at getting their education right but are being used as guinea pigs? They wont get a second chance if the Curriculum fails.....
By taking away our study leave, you may be preventing pupils who prefer to work in a different setting from school from achieving what they could achieve with study leave. I am however aware that some pupils misuse and take advantage study leave which will most likely be a contributing factor to why we are not being given it, but because of some former pupils irresponsible behaviour should not prevent younger pupils from being given an equal opportunity to use this time effectively and to their own benefit and gains.
Exams (and being a teenager) can be stressful enough without revoking study leave.
West Dunbartonshire council must act asap to stop this practice of sitting exams during holidays,also home study should be available to those students who dont want to study in school,as they can be hindered by others who are'nt interested in study,this curriculum is a disaster as it has been railroaded through too quickly without proper planning or integration with teaching staff.Terry Lanigan must act to allow these pupils to sit exams during school time and also the choice of whether to study at home or school as has always been the case
Not having study leave is utterly ridiculous, especially not knowing what its like to properly study for exams, we will have distractions in the class, fantastic
home study is the only way to get peace to concentrate,at this stage you should'nt have to ask teachers anything as you shiould be up to speed and only revising what you have been taught
it is absolutely unfair not to allow students time off to study for important exams,in the past we have all enjoyed this practice,it is even more baffling considering these pupils are having to deal with the inaugural curriculum of chaos

Some people do like to study in school but at their own choice!!! Most people like to study in thier own environment!
