I hated this when they first declared this. How many thousands of animals have died because of this ridiculous designation for a supposedly open door shelter. Open door shelters know they have to euthanize. Unfortunate but true until spay neuter laws are tightened and actually enacted.

We need to stop the no kill propaganda and have open intake with emergency vet services for people who find a lost dog.

No Kill isn't working. Closing intake isn't working.
Open intake, add more kennel space, eliminate no-kill, hire more direct care employees and less middle managers. That is the way, in my opinion.

No Kill isn't working. It's slow kill. Austins City shelter isn't working when dogs are constantly turned away.

Too many dogs are loose in the community and we have no where to take them.
Choose a director who will prioritize public safety and open intake—not an APA or Best Friends affiliate.
The current no kill model isn’t working.

Open intake.
No Kill at 95% does not work.
Choose a common sense director not affiliated with APA! or Best Friends Animal Society.

No kill equals slow kill on the streets without no emergency medical funding.
