This is what we get from our elected council members? What a disastrous proposal. This will do nothing to create more affordable housing. It will just devalue our homes and quality of life by further overcrowding our once quaint neighborhoods.

City Council did a good thing recently in passing amended building laws to mitigate R1 intrusive large home construction, then they do this, feels like a slap in the face. I found the “Land Use Alternatives Survey” to be leading in a biased direction, and Carlson Park wasn’t listed in the home neighborhood drop down menu. I would be very suspicious of the analytics they pull from this survey.

Any old single family houses that are torn down, will not be re-built to accommodate low income families. This is not a solution and will destroy our neighborhoods. Builders are only interested in large sq. ft. houses that only millionaires can afford. Traffic is bad enough in Culver City. Seems the people who make these decisions are only interested in making money.

Its beyond frustrating that the council members and outside groups pushing for the elimination of single family housing have such a lack of regard for the single family homeowners who moved here specifically for the quiet neighborhoods. To assume that dense living is, and should be, okay for everyone is ignorant. And to be willing to destroy neighborhoods by building overpriced multiplexes, while using a completely fabricated narrative that it provides more affordable housing is absolutely irresponsible.

R1/single family homes are the heart of most towns. Although developers love the high rise, the people like the height limits and their own yards. Please do not change the zoning.

I grew up in Culver City in a single family neighborhood around the park. Why would you want to destroy the character of these neighborhoods and make them densely populate; thus noisy, no parking, no peace?! Must be developers in the background
