For the past two nights, the CUA students have been shaken up and remain afraid. The law students at CUA demand that there be changes made immediately to ensure our safety while we take our final exams. During a "shelter in place", exam takers had to continue, after being rushed to another room with no certainty of their safety. With the continuing of exams, the administration wants us to go along with pretending like nothing happened and be convinced there is no future harm. It is, however, inevitable that the students will be concentrating less on the subjects tested because they now will be thinking about their safety and who could be outside the building.

The concerned law students at CUA demand that there be changes put into effect immediately. We believe that yesterday's exam takers were seriously impacted by the incident and were at a huge disadvantage while taking the test. We also believe that students who still have exams to take are affected and need to be addressed. Take home tests or even postponing tests to allow for people to regain themselves from the incidents and allow the threat to truly be eliminated. If students must take their exams, we insist that there be armed security guards outside the rooms and library, or at least outside all entrances to the school.

We believe that unless safety measures are taken immediately, students will not feel comfortable being at school, let alone taking exams. And not only will they be uneasy but also utterly distracted and upset while trying to focus. We know that even small measures will begin to achieve this, as long as it is done quickly. There need to be such changes so that the law students feel like they are cared about and that their safety is the number one priority.
