It is offensive to the people of the region, as if everyone from the Balkans is a terrorist. No other faction name evokes this. It would not be appropriate to name a terrorist faction 'Muslim', 'African', 'Mexican' or 'Middle East(ern)', so why is it okay to call it 'Balkan'?
