In the city of Yonkers, there is not even a single public high school offering computer science classes (of any sort), despite high demand. As one of the fastest growing fields, computer science has made its presence known, with plans being drawn to make computer science classes mandatory in all New York City schools within 10 years. In addition - even despite such an obvious handicap to this field within Yonkers, students have found ways to try and express their love for CS in other manners, such as through robotics teams, school projects, other ways to incorporate computers more into their school work. Technology is the future, so would it make sense for Yonkers Public Schools to invest in it, and through it, the future of its students.
