October 13, 2013 Open letter to President Obama, Rahm Emanuel et.al. Another young black man murdered this weekend. Ho-hum… As you skim the day’s highlights in the news after the day’s top topics as stupid celebrity tweaking etc. This all done while you non-chalantly prepare your morning cup of java or mocha latte or prepare for the week’s featured football game. All the while Brendon Wilborn is lying died in the local Chicago morgue. You see, they fail to realize that Brendon was a vibrant, young man loved by many, including me, Auntie Kym! I’ve heard ad nauseum all the various intellectual discourse regarding potential reasons for these causes. In the end, none really matter. Brendon is DEAD and no one appears to care! If Brendon’s murder weren’t a black-on-black crime but rather another “name the ethic group” crime against a member of another ethic group, would Obama, Emanuel etc. really care or dare suggest such a personal connection to i.e. Trayvon Martin, wearing hoodies etc.? A human being has been unnecessarily massacred. Every death/murder matters. Brendon’s death MATTERS! All of our young youth untimely death MATTERS! Let’s just stop all the political rhetoric and useless bickering on both sides regarding relevant issues! Let’s get real politicians, professionals, pastors, preachers, celebrities and everyday Joe public people coming together to say NO MORE and mean it! We all deserve nothing less.
