Crown Hill Pedestrian Crossing

Crossing need and least parking on the hill

Desperately needed and long overdue.

I am in trepidation that there will be a dreadful accident and a fatality on Crown Hill unless something is done before this happens. I walk down from my house in Crown Hill Drive very close to the junction with Crown Hill every day as my walk takes me early morning along the by pass track towards Efail Isaf. The speed, as early as 6.00 am and ongoing, that some vehicles travel along Crown Hill scares me. I actually wave my arms at many cars that are doing in excess of 50 mph in this 30mph zone. If I was a parent living across the road and my children had to cross Crown Hill to go to the school, I would be very frightened for their life. I implore one of the Council employees to come down here and witness what is happening! Please, please put in a crossing to save lives and to slow the traffic down for those wishing to cross the road, and for those of us who are afraid to walk down the footpath to the bottom. Its been needed for a long time especially for the elderly crossing to the shops and bus stop.

And a speed camera

Traffic calming measures seriously need to be in place too.

Great idea. Very busy road, with lots of children in the area. However, not the only issue. I think if it was placed centrally on crown hill, a traffic calming measure (speed bump) placed in between the crossing and either end of the road would stop people speeding too.

You get cars flying up and down crown hill some days, a crossing would be great and also a speed camera

Zebra crossing would be the best I think but either way a crossing needs to be there... Well done

Safety first

Too many kids play on the opposite side of the road to where they live. Why wouldn’t you have one in the first place to link both estates ?

Definitely needed, how there has not been a fatality on our road is unbelievable considering the speed of some drivers

A pedestrian crossing would be really beneficial for the children walking with their parents to and from school. The road is so busy, that it’s often difficult to cross even as an adult.

This is a very busy road and no way at all for pedestrians to cross safe. This needs to happen.
