Dear County Commissioners,

We, the undersigned, wholeheartedly support the Central Park Neighborhood Block Watch’s efforts to improve safety in and around our school zone.

The CPNBW’s proposal to install stop signs and have crosswalks placed at the intersection of Central Park Drive and School Road is critical and one that the commission should give their full attention to. Numerous students at Central Park Elementary walk to school and use Central Park Drive as their route; since it is the only road with a wide enough shoulder to safely walk to school. Speeding on Central Park Drive has long been a concern of the neighborhood and the school. Installing the above-mentioned safety devices will help to ensure that our children and other pedestrians are safely able to cross the intersection as they make their way to School Road. Luckily, no one has been injured at this intersection, but there have been close calls. Your efforts will help prevent a tragedy.

We greatly appreciate any efforts you can make toward keeping our community safe and we look forward to hearing from you as to what efforts are being taken to accomplish this.

Sincerely,

Central Park Residents
