Whereas the City of Surrey is promoting sustainability principles and encourages walking and cycling and active use of park spaces; and whereas there are documented positive health benefits with walking and enjoying activities associated with park trails, playgrounds and natural settings; and whereas the City of Surrey is responsible for the safety of its roads; we therefore request that the city of Surrey provide a safe pedestrian crossing on 140 St. between 85 Ave. and 86 A Ave. for use by school children, transit riders, Bear Creek Park visitors and Brookside area residents.
