The crosswalk at NW McDaniel Road and Parnell Terrace is treacherous. Approximately 75-100 children who walk to Bonny Slope Elementary frequently witness drivers that do not stop for the crosswalk, pass illegally over the double yellow lines, block the sidewalk, commit speed violations and so on.

We petition Washington County to make improvements that will keep students, residents and school employees safer. We believe increased law enforcement andinfrastructure enhancementscould better protect our community – including but not limited to additional flashing pedestrian signage directly at the crosswalk, a dedicated turn lane, a median, reducing the speed limit, and revising the school parking lot traffic flow.
