Doesn't seem fair or easonable for the council to expect the recue to over these costs. Please don;t allow the sanctuary to close, there are too many horses who need help in this cruel country.

If the ponies had caused a serious incident the council would have had a much bigger claim for compensation than the bill from Crosskennan. Time for the council to pay up. They are not scarce of money when it comes to funding the councillors' antics.
