Just keep it as a pub. And a nice traditional one, rather than a characterless, generic modern gastro chain monstrosity.

Every village needs a local, I would hate to see this disappear.

Every village should have a central hub and The Cricketers has always played that role in Kingsley, whether it be just for meeting with friends or hosting local clubs meetings. It would be a shame to lose such a valuable community asset.

Sorry to say the simple reason why things don’t stay open is it’s not used enough. Just like the wonderful little golf course up the road. You all say you use it but not enough to pay for the outgoings for someone to survive. Get real people or lose it.

Well what can I say about this pub i worked here while still at school which then led me to go into catering after school, then to go on to be able to work with some of the top chefs in this country I.e Heston, Gordon and to work in one of the best hotel in the world the RITZ London so without this pub I’d not of had these opportunity, also of which my dad Dave who worked behind the bar after retirement, Iv he’d many of good nights in here, I also held my dads wake here as it was his favourite place in the village of cause so let’s keep it that way!

I would hate to see the pub close, it is an essential asset for our community. We have got to know so many people in the village especially through events such as Ladies night and carol singing.

A quintessentially British pub. Would tear a whole in the fabric of the nation were it to go.

We have lived in Kingsley for around 15 years and regularly visit the Cricketers, albeit not so frequently over the past few months due to lack of beer choice and rising prices. Having run a 'Have a Go' archery day in the pub garden last year, we are keen to make this an annual event as has often proved very popular & lucrative elsewhere when advertised properly. We enjoy the quiz nights in the pub and see it as an important social hub for the village. Proof of this was the welcome log fire when the village lost power a few years ago.

An amazing pub full of character and best of all some amazing friends none of which I would have got to know if it hadn't been for the pub. It would be hard to underestimate just how vital this put is to our village life.
