What are our Representatives in Congress waiting for? Legislation needs to be enacted to protect consumers from Credit Card Companies and other lending institutions allowing them to gouge consumers by unfair rate increases, unfair fee increases, over limit fees for something they allowed to happen they set the credit limit then allow you to go over it, thus charging for something allowed to happen. They extended you addition credit to pay the over limit amount. Late charges, annual fees, fees for using your debit card at other than the issuing bank, bills sent from another state that allows higher interest rates than the state you reside; these ridiculous charges add up to billions of dollars each year not in the name of a fair profit for these institution but pure and simple greed. Through this petition let your representatives aware we will not tolerate it anymore. They should consider the financial stability of their constituents NOW. Not four or five months from now in order to give these greedy institutions more time to increase rates and think up more phony fees.
