Fair is fair. Speaking your mind about cheating is one's right to do so. If DNA testing and microchip reading is what is required to keep cross-bred spaniels from competing with pure breds; make it happen.

No one should be penalised for whistle blowing on bad and fraudulent practice that bring the validity of the KC register into disrepute. The KC need to get their house in order and start penalising those fraudulent breeders and puppy farmers who hide behind the KC pedigree scheme and dupe unsuspecting customers.

He definitely should be re-appointed, he has raise the concerns of many, people are entering dogs in FT with false KC pedigrees, the KC should be ashamed that they are doing nothing other than penalising the person who brings this to there attention.

I do not know Mr Platt personally but it seems for many years the canine world as a whole has been plagued with exactly the fears he has highlighted. The KC promote many health tests for breeds, surely they should promote with extreme urgency; the most basic - ensuring the breed is 'pure'. I can see no breach of conduct, only a reputable man showing extreme concern for his breed. He would be a judge everyone would feel confident running under and therefore should be reinstated and solutions as he mentions, re scanning and DNA testing before FTCH status can be achieved - introduced as a minimum - across all breeds.
