The Laundry Studios is a high-tech multi media studio complex specialising in film, photography, music production and performance. We provide a fully equipped studio with bespoke infinity curve for both film, TV and photographic shoots, plus a sound proofed, air conditioned rehearsal studio for bands and solo artists. In addition we have a team of creative professionals who work in both the film and music industries, providing essential support to ensure our clients receive the best possible outcome from visiting our facility. We are looking to improve employment services across North Wales by creating a brand new creative enterprise to encourage young people and adults into work. Introducing Media Village @ TLS – a new initiative for Action for Arts. This will be a brand new small enterprise offering young people ‘hands on’ experience in the professional broadcast television and film industry. Media Village @ TLS will be responsible for producing broadcast quality content for distribution via the Community Channel and other internet outlets, and for Livestream broadcasts. Based in the fully equipped television studio at TLS and also on location, all content will be produced to a very high standard, by a recruited team of volunteer media students who are unemployed and needing experience to build their professional skills in production, including directing, presenting, sound, camera, lighting, set design, hair and make up, photography and journalism. The aim of Media Village @ TLS is that all content will be produced for the 16 – 24 demographic by a team of young people. Giving them an introduction to the world of professional TV production, filmmaking and the opportunity to present a range of local news items, contemporary culture and debate important issues, that don’t necessarily get mainstream news coverage. A core production team from Action for Arts will support the young people, with bonus guest appearances from high profile artists who are in the television and film world. Being part of this exciting initiative allows young people to transition from education via a meaningful work experience, in preparation for joining the creative industries. It also provides them with excellent networking opportunities with our colleagues in London and Manchester. In order to progress this creative enterprise further support is required to publicize this opportunity to young people around North Wales.
