Laws need to change to help hunters recover funds and bonus points from hunts cancelled by AZGFD due to natural disasters.

Stop Az game and fish trying to make it harder on hunters. Every year they pass laws that make harder to hunt. There slowly taking are rights away. Lots of chances need to be done. Starting with governor appointing commissioner. We don’t take in money from the government to support hunting. We as sportsmen should vote in are commissioners who we want to representing us and are state. So we can get the right people in the seats to fight and make the right decisions for the hunters and are game in the field. Maybe hold game warden accountable of bad decisions in the field there not perfect like they seem to think they are. Or stop dumb decisions like stop auction tags that generate huge amount of money so things like this happens a fire burns a unit down and sportsman can’t hunt that year because of closers of the forest. We have enough funds to to support the Sportsmen’s. Game and Fish forgets 80% of there funds is because of sportsmen’s.

AZGFD needs to start supporting and listening to the citizens that provide the largest amount of their operating revenue. The hunters and fishers in the state of Arizona are the only conservationists that truly care about our wildlife. This should put us on AZGFD’s priority list, second only to the wildlife they are charged with protecting.

I have been hunting since I was 5 following my dad around. Then hunting since I was 10 when I completed the course. Been a hunter all my life and never knew this was a thing. Seems unfair for sure but if game and fish need the money to support our wildlife here we’d all be happy to help in another way!

I agree in this set of circumstances a tag purchaser should have some kind of recourse.

I was one of the cow bison Aug 1-21 tag holders and a refund or a rollover would be much appreciated after not getting a single chance to hunt.

I have been hunting my entire life and was out in the mountains with dad and grand father since I was 4 years old. Hunting season was more exciting than Christmas for me. Being 10 years old was supposed to be to be the highlight of my life (better than 16 and 21). Counted down the days until I was 10 so I could draw my first tag. Took hunters ed, and put on for the draw. Nothing. And then Nothing. Until I was 14 years old I finally drew a tag, and an unfamiliar so that I could finally hunt for myself. I was thankful none the less but to wait my entire life up to that point and not draw a tag for an additional for years is pretty disheartening. Not the exact situation but I feel these people’s pain. I appreciate G&F for trying to take the appropriate steps for conservation, buttttt…. It’s not exactly benefiting the small portion of the overall population. Let’s hear these people out, and fight for what’s right for the hard working hunters that support this cause. I hope the commissioner fights tooth and nail against the bureaucracy that steals from the one putting there families food on the table!
Thank you!

The right thing for AZGFD to do would be to reschedule the hunt or provide a refund.
I hope they make this right for all those affected.
