10,000 homeless youths in Toronto alone throughout the year. Facing sexual, physical or emotional abuse, being kicked out for self-expression (being LGTB, for example) , being neglected or living in a troubled household with drug/alcohol abusers are just a few reasons why a teen may feel complied to leave home. It's only the extremes that push young teenagers/adults out of their warm homes and onto the street. It is their only ESCAPE. We can support them by donating essentials which are needed to survive (food,clothing) and SHELTER. But with thousands of homeless youth around Toronto and the GTA, and a few shelters available to those who live in the city; what about Brampton? Temporary or permanently, every youth needs a place to call home as they grow up. There are currently 0 homeless youth shelters in Brampton, Ontario.
