This rebate program would require you to retire your old diesel vehicle and buy a new vehicle and in return you would receive a credit. Older engines burn fuel at a faster and less clean rate. Therefore this program would benefit the environment in the way that new vehicles burn fuel cleaner and are more fuel efficient. Not only would it help the environment, but the program would also help the participants in the way that they could better afford a new vehicle and would be able to spend less money on gas and in turn, save money.
