The city has formally approved the construction of a dedicated skatepark in Nicosia. This result validates the persistence shown by everyone who signed this petition. We look forward to seeing the space become a reality for our sporting community.

Θα θέλαμε να σας συγχαρούμε για το μέχρι τώρα έργο σας στην ανάπλαση της Λευκωσίας. Είμαστε μια ομάδα ατόμων που ασχολούνται εδώ και 10 χρόνια με το άθλημα της τροχοσανίδας (skateboarding).Σκοπός της αίτησης μας είναι να σας ενημερώσουμε για τους λόγους που θεωρούμε αναγκαία την δημιουργία ενος πάρκου τροχοσανίδας (skatepark). Μετά απο πολλές αποτυχημένες εκκλήσεις και προσπάθειες που κάναμε έως τώρα,ευελπιστούμε οτι εσείς θα πραγματοποιήσετε το αίτημα μας.
Θεωρούμε αναγκαία την δημιουργία ενος πάρκου τροχοσανίδας για τους παρακάτω λόγους:
1. Θα συνεισφέρει στην Ανάπτυξη των αθλημάτων όπως: τροχοσανίδα(skateboarding), πατινάζ (roller-skating), ποδηλασία (BMX) και σκούτερ (scooter).
2. Θα διασφαλίσει την Ασφάλεια όλων των αθλητών (σημερινών καιμελλοντικών), με τη δημιουργία ενος χώρου που πληρεί τις κατάλληλες προδιαγραφές.
3. Θα αποτελέσει χώρο εναλλακτικών δραστηριοτήτων για την νεολαία
4. Θα απαλειφθεί και η ελάχιστη πιθανότητα καταστροφής, ιδιωτικής ήδημόσιας περιουσίας.
5. Ο Αθλητικός τουρισμός, θα έχει απήχηση στο εξωτερικό,και τέλος διότι
6. Είμαστε η μοναδική πρωτεύουσα στην Ευρωπαική Ένωση χωρίς πάρκοτροχοσανίδας (skatepark), το οποίο να προσφέρει και να διαφυλάσσει όλαόσα σας αναφέραμε παραπάνω.

Dear Mayor of Nicosia, Constantine Georghadji ,
We are a group of people that are active for 10 years into the sport of skateboard.
Purpose of this application is to inform you of the reasons we need the creation of a skatepark. After failed attempts by previous mayors , Mr. Michalis Zampelas and Miss Eleni Mavrou, we hope that you will fulfill our request.
We need to create a skatepark for the following reasons :
1. Development of sports such as: skateboard , rollerskating, cycling (BMX) and scooter.
2 . Safety of existing and future athletes by creating a space that meets the appropriate standards.
3. Engaging youth as an alternative activity .
4. Prevent possible damage to foreign , private and public property.
5. Sport tourism.
6. The only capital city in the European Union without a skatepark.

The feedback regarding the absence of a dedicated facility in the capital has been significant. Our team is currently preparing a formal proposal to present to the municipal authorities based on the collective interest shown here.

skating is a sport. Do you want to give us a safer place to practice it or should we continue doing what we do on the streets?
They better make a skate park because I get frustrated with the fact that many skaters stop doing what they love to do only because they have no place to practice/learn their skills...
Χρειαζεται λογο του οτι αρκετοι νεοι που εχουν σαν κύριο αθλημα το σκειτ καθημερινα να τραυματιζονται κανοντας σκειτ σε αντιξοες συνθηκες
this is gonna be something good for the locals but also for the economy of the cyprus because of this the people from abroad will have reason to come to cyprus to skate!
Lets Make this happen ! , skateboarding is verry underestimated in this country .. its not all frape and football
Please it's important to stay active and healthy for all ages and especially for children!
We need a skatepark/extreme sports park wich we will be able to Parkour, BMX, and skate there!!!

This is a chance to encourage athleticism to young individuals. It will mean less damage to public and private property which at the moment is used as a means to skate.
