Tenant Advocacy to End Mandatory Vacate for Crane Street Studios, 46-23 Crane Street, Long Island City, NY 11101 We are the artists and artist related business tenants of the cluster of buildings located between Davis & Crane Streets, bordering Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, NY. We are one of the largest artist's enclaves in New York City with more than 300 tenants and have for more than a decade significantly contributed to the richness of the local community. Our building is under a mandatory vacate & inspection by the City of New York since April 9th, 2009. Worst case, we may not be able to return to our businesses other than to remove our effects. Each day that goes by we are losing income, business and artistic opportunities that are critical to our livelihood and that contribute to a disintegrating community. We ask that you join us in an effort to regain our tenancy by signing this petition. The collective petitions will be distributed to political leadership of New York City in an effort to expedite the decision making process in anticipation of a favorable solution for our landlord and thereby ourselves.
