Cocaine, better known as its street name “crack cocaine” made its first appearances in the United States in 1981. However, the powdery substance was transformed into a solid, smokeable substance that would give drug dealers the opportunity to sell it to more people because; they would be able to produce the drug in smaller quantities. Soon this affordable, easy access drug became a part of major cities, social lives, such as Miami Florida, Houston Texas, and Los Angeles California. Its use spread rapidly throughout the United States of America for many reasons: it was easily produce by drug dealers, the drug was extremely cheap, and it was easily accessible. Crack Cocaine initially affected predominately the African American community. This injustice for African Americans has gone on far too long. Especially considering the fact that the U.S. government estimated to spend over US$15.5 billion on the “war on drugs” since 2011. More money needs to be spent in research, and put to use the powers of science to tackle the issue of drug abuse and addiction. With more assistance, and help, the strain that crack cocaine has on the black community can be eliminated. As a result , we, the undersigned, call on the Government of the United States for grants to implement more programs and research for those United States citizens stillfightingwith the drug abuse of" Crack" Cocaine.
