Greeting fellow members of Curve Radio

To the DJs:

How many of you enjoy speaking to listeners and having a good chat? I'm sure everyone here will enjoy feedback from the listeners on our shows and on things we do while on air, but sadly, we cannot do this as we do not have the facilities to do so. Yes, we have the website chat, but that is not working and who knows how long it will be before it is working. I know that I love interaction with listeners and I'm sure that you do to, it makes you feel more motivated and knowing that people love your music. Also we can build a better fan base if we have a group to chat with listeners as we will know where our listeners are. We can also interact while on air and have listeners comment on our shows and styles of music. This will certainly build a stronger amount of listeners for both your shows and the radio.

Therefore I ask of you to give the idea of a Skype group for DJs and listeners a thought. This is merely a suggestion and something that I think could benefit CR as a whole and interacting will certainly motivate you to do more shows!

To the Managers:

Yes, I know with the addition of another chat group we are opening the doors to trolls and people spreading offensive and other unwanted messages, but this can be controlled. Involve DJs to assist managers and make a few DJs admins of the group to make the load on RMs lighter and to regulate the chat as well. Think on the bright side, it will be easier to broadcast messages to listeners such as new DJs, new additions to the website, changes taking place in CR and other news relating to CR. It can also help to advertise vacant positions such as becoming a DJ and applying to be a social media manager, for example. This can be used as a temporary solution till we have our website chat up and running.

I ask of you, please consider this request and make a decision based on the response it gets from the DJs as a whole. Do not shun this simply because of the negatives, think how it will impact and affect the DJs and how they will feel with the addition of chatting to their listeners. Do keep in mind how this will benefit CR as a whole and not just the individual DJs. I'm sure a DJ who gets a response from his fans will feel motivated to being more active, which will in turn, create a bigger and stronger listener base.

To everyone:

If you feel that you welcome and are in favour of a Skype chat group, I ask that you please sign the petition. This is YOUR decision, do not feel pressured or forced into doing so. Do what you think is best, think of both the negative and positive effects it will have on CR as a whole.
