States are spending millions of dollars annually on unethical child removals performed by unaccountable child protection services (CPS). Children are obtained through unethical means, such as failing to present exculpatory information to the court, manufacturing mental illnesses with state funded and CPS contracted evaluators, skipping material court hearings and procedures, such as fact-findings, ignoring court orders, and failing to present witnesses, testimony, cross-examination, evidence and discovery during removal hearings. Cases can linger in the judicial system for years and cost states hundreds of thousands of dollars for a law guardian/attorney for the children ($67K per year), attorney for CPS ($62K/yr), up to two attorneys for the parents ($70K - $140K/yr), the judge ($165K/yr), court appointed evaluators (CASA, mental health evaluators, therapists), including paid testimony time, and court ordered services for parents and children ($20 - $150/hr). CPS also costs states millions of dollars in legal damages paid to individual and class action plaintiffs who have won lawsuits against CPS. Case law and publicity generated from the work of Youth Law Center, Children's Rights, National Center for Youth Law, attorneys and public news outlets reveal that CPS and court appointed law guardians regularly fail to protect children who starve, die and irreparably suffer, not thrive, in child protection services. State budgets could find a more effective use of the public funds currently being spent on unethical child removals. Cps removed two of my nieces i was adopting in 2010 in san bernardino ca, while they were with the babysitter. It took me 2 days to find out about it due the the fact no warrent was issued nor notified. Cps also authorized medical treatment and sealed the hospital records. Forcing me to no longer allow my other two children to see their father. Not even an explaination. I took it ruff being a product of the system and these very same social workers and judges being the only ones i trusted as a child. Two tears later in 2012 sanbernardino cps forced me to send my son to memphis with his grandma and a month later took my daughter because i had become a victim of abuse and was homeless begging them for a shelter and protection. Forced me to admit that because i grew up around drugs i also had an addiction and was just in denial. 4 agonizing hours in a room with 15 other people i tryed to justify who i was and all i wanted was protection and refused rehab. That day i left that building without my daughter cps took her. No warrent nothing. I completed a drug program never tested dirty no criminal record parenting certificate counseling. Case was set to close in a month. I obtained a vehicle and housing drove to memphis to get my son. Just for them to take him a few weeks later. Another year without both of my kids. They tracked my sons dad down which i had a criminal protective order on and he had been out of our lives for 3 years and never was in my sons life and when they closed the case he is who now has custody. A registered gang member, violent criminal history no counseling during reunification or confirmed bonding between him and my son. In 2014 when my case was set to close the third time and cps was away in 2013 december of my pregnancy, they removed them again giving them to their fathers two men in 2010 that they accused of child molestation. In march 2014 when i gave birth to my third child cps tryed to take her i refused id allow them to take anymore of my kids and that i now knew my rights. Cps backed off. To my knowledge in june 2016 cps with juvenile minute orders held my third childs case open until october 2014. Which i had no knowledge of because she was never award of the court. There also are no documented family law orders on file with the sanbernardino court house as there are with my two other children. Her final juvenile orders awarded me full custody which lead me to believe another man they have forced out of their childs life. Violating so many parts of the constitution. The 4th and 14th amendment. And denied me any chance or opportunity of appeal. Please help me get my life back and no longer be just a number in their corrupted system. 3 years they had my life yet again. And ive lost 3 children that to them were only a dollar amount.
