FAIR FUNDING FOR OUR FUTURE
November 18, 2015
To the Elected Officials for the State of Illinois;
The Chicago Public Schools’ Local School Councils, Chicago Neighborhood Organizations, Parents, Business Owners, and other taxpayers are calling for Springfield to support our students, schools, and teachers.
We will not tolerate officials who refuse to fund schools adequately, fund charter schools over neighborhood schools, misuse funds reserved for teacher pensions and place the burden on the taxpayers to double fund education (TRS & CTPF). It is time to address the inadequacies of State funding and move to efficient and supportive legislation that results in the best possible outcome: appropriate student services and teacher security.
It is imperative that the officials listen and act swiftly in support of our students. The CPS student body comprises 20% of Illinois students. Chicago Public Schools has been ignored by the State of Illinois for far too long.
We urge you to stand up for equitable funding!
Reapectfully,
Families, Students, and FriendsJaqueline B. Vaughn Occupational High School
