On July 6, 2009 Facebook disabled the publishing rights of the Dallas Cowboys page (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Dallas-Cowboys/8118484787ref=ts).
While we, the administrators, of this page are not associated with the Cowboys franchise, we, like the 108,000 other members of that page are fans who simply chose to fill a need, a presence on Facebook where we could all show our support for a great team!
I would certainly never advocate breaching the terms of service in any organization, however I would argue fair and equitable use. If we were simply a page with 100 or even 1000 users. Sending us a notice that the page is going to be taken down, would have been unwelcome but understood.
We are a page with just over 108,000 members! Without warning, our publishing rights were removed. We have made NUMEROUS attemps to contact Facebook regarding the matter and have received no responses to any of our enquiries.
We contacted the Dallas Cowboys franchise to see if there were any concerns shared by the franchise, and were told as long as the franchise is portrayed fairly and in a positive light, there are no issues.
Still, we receive no response from Facebook, and still we are unable to operate the page.
Show your support for the Dallas Cowboys, and our page by signing this petition requesting Facebook allow us to continue a page that has become the largest and most widely supported Cowboys fan page on the Facebook social network.
Hitting 500 signatures is a massive boost for those of us who spent so much time building that community. It feels good to know that so many people understand why that page mattered to Cowboys fans.

I have spent hours looking through the comments here and it is clear that this community deserves to be heard by the people running things at Facebook. The total silence from their team is frustrating but we are not backing down until our fan page is back online where it belongs.

I really miss the community we had there. It was a great spot to talk about the games on sundays. Not right to shut it down.

How am I supposed to get my updates now. Real annoyed with these faceless companies deleting whatever they want without telling anyone.

This is ridiculous. Facebook should quit messing with fan pages that are just trying to show love for their team. Bring it back.
