This petition will be sent to the Ontario government asking to reconsider the restrictions for Weddings in Ontario. We are not asking for unsafe, mask-free, weddings with dancing. We are asking for restrictions to allow for percentage of capacity guest counts, removing the blanket requirement of 50 indoors/100 outdoors across coloured zones. Please help support brides, grooms and vendors across Ontario!

I honestly thought this might just stay between a few people I knew, but we just hit one hundred signatures. It is truly humbling to see so many of you feeling the same way about these wedding restrictions.

February 21, 2021

I started this because I felt frustrated but I never imagined a thousand people would feel the same way. This momentum belongs entirely to the couples and vendors who kept pushing this forward. Truly thank you for letting me be a small part of what you are building.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have joined this cause. It is surreal to see so many of you stepping up for couples and local vendors when I really just started this out of my own frustration.

This is such a crime against business! The logic of indoor capacities make no sense! Restaurants and Banquet Halls have the same capacity of 50!! It should be done by % of space or seating capacity as per municipal by-laws, fire and liquor requirements. Come On Dougie... time to Listen!

I am a bride who has already has to postpone their wedding once and am with a hall who has no heart in giving money or funds back to us if there are government restrictions in place. Please let us have a wedding with those we love!!!! Not having. A wedding puts barriers on people starting their lives together!

Weddings are not the problem and never have been. This is not sustainable. This needs to be re looked at, changed and revised like everything else has been in your reopening framework. As many others have mentioned, if schools can reopen safely, weddings (especially outdoor ones) can reopen MUCH more safely.

the numbers throughout the zones need to be adjusted!!!! if we are doing well and in green zones why can i only have 50 people inside a hall that holds 1500? Something neeeds to give and we’ve waited too long

I am an Event Planner/Designer in the GTA and I have been unable to work since March of 2020. I have lost so many clients due to COVID as well as a years income. I’ve had to sell my home because I was unable to pay my mortgage and it’s put a massive stain on my personal life along with my business.

It would be great to see wedding receptions held on private property not grouped in with general private gatherings that are capped at 25 people (outdoors). If the wedding is catered, has a wedding planner/other staff and all covid protocols are being enforced, it should fall into the same gathering limits as a staffed venue!

Looks like Julia Marinelli only wants to see people supporting her cause and deletes anything that shows how selfish she and her supporters are.
